This apparently explains why so many people (including my husband), are seriously addicted to cheese. I mean my hubby on his own eats at least a half a kilo of cheese in a week (often more). That's a lot of cheese! At the moment he and I are on a detox type diet and that's the one thing he misses - his cheddar cheese (even tho he can have ricotta or cottage cheese - it's not the same....). Related posts:

I find it interesting that we can be horrified at the thought that people in other countries eat dogs and horses and guinea pigs because we keep them as pets, and yet we eat pigs kept in horrid, cruel conditions in factory farms. Anyone who has kept a pig as a pet, will tell you that they're at least (maybe more) intelligent than the family dog. Related posts:

When you think that the oil spill from the Exxon-Valdez in March of 1989, was 12 million gallons and that hit the news all over the world, horrifying people and causing a public outcry, it is kind of confusing as to why we don't hear more about these environmental disasters being caused by factory farming. I've just been reading a book by John Robbins called The Food Revolution. In this book (and apparently his earlier book Diet for a New America) he describes the horror that billions of animals every year are enduring, being raised in factory farms and then slaughtered in slaughter houses owned by companies that have no consideration for the animals they are killing. Well, today David Wolfe has made a statement on his Facebook page to say that he has no affiliation with Sunfood (the company he started) as he was cleverly maneuvered out by the new owner Doug Harbison. From what I've read, IF genetically modified animals were to be cloned and the cloned animals are then used as sperm donors and then the resulting animals end up in the food supply - you could be eating genetically modified animals and have no idea that that is what is on your burger and you would also have no idea what that genetic modification was designed to create in the original animal or - in you! It is really about the question 'Why is nutrition important?' It's only common sense that nutrition is important - our bodies are created from what we eat. All the trillions of cells and the DNA, RNA, Nucleus, Chromosomes etc that they contain are created using the food that we eat. If we don't eat the right stuff, then our those trillions of cells that are re-creating themselves - dying, recreating and multiplying - are going to be deficient. Related posts:

As I've discussed in this video, I've had weight issues all my life - even as a child - which back when I was a child was far less common than it (sadly) is today.
