Just imagine if they found a cure for cancer. "What a wonderful world this could be" as the song goes. But would it be a wonderful world? and if so, would it be wonderful for everyone? The tumor got bigger initially, but seems to have stopped growing from what we can see and feel for now. She's good in herself and seems to be her normal sleepy self with the bursts of enthusiasm and energy when food is offered, when it's time to go for a walk or when another dog is around that are normal for her. Just a very quick update on how Nala's going on the Budwig protocol of cottage cheese and flax seed oil. So far so good - but not a lot of change. There's really been no change in the tumor - it may have gotten slightly bigger. Ray thinks it's quite a bit bigger - I don't. Related posts:

So that's Nala's diet and protocol for now. It may change and evolve depending on results but I'll be posting regularly to let everyone know how this goes. For me it's not only about saving Nala from the horrible illness and suffering that will inevitably lead to her death if we do nothing or go the medical/veterinarian route (although that's a massive part of the motivation) - for me I have to admit that this is also about the chance to prove something (to myself if no-one else). I don't want to stand by again and feel helpless because I know that I'm not. I know that cancer isn't as hard as they make it out to be. I know that there are many, many ways that people cure their cancers - the list is long! So I'm going to do my best to work out how to do this for Nala - because she's part of our family. She's our number 3 right now. Both of our kids have moved back to New Zealand and there's only me and he and Nala here in Aussie now and we want to hang on to her for as long as possible and when she goes we don't want it to be from some damn anal gland tumor.
