During my years as a Remedial Therapist, I've often wondered how many totally unnecessary hip replacements and knee replacements are done each year. This is because I've had so many clients who have come to me for massage, who have had ongoing hip pain, been for xrays and been told by their doctors that the pain is being caused by degeneration in the hip joint and that hip replacement surgery is imminent - only to find that the pain is actually being caused by muscle and easily corrected. Mike Adams the health ranger has an article linked to from his newsletter today about the famous Dr Oz - from the Oprah Winfrey show - having recently had surgery for a pre-cancerous colon polyp. Mike is commenting on the fact that Dr Oz's physician has stated that even though Dr Oz has a 'perfect diet' it wasn't enough to stop him getting colon polyps and therefore any of us could get them and we should all be screened.
