During my years as a Remedial Therapist, I've often wondered how many totally unnecessary hip replacements and knee replacements are done each year. This is because I've had so many clients who have come to me for massage, who have had ongoing hip pain, been for xrays and been told by their doctors that the pain is being caused by degeneration in the hip joint and that hip replacement surgery is imminent - only to find that the pain is actually being caused by muscle and easily corrected.

Even simpler is a soft tissue technique which I use on myself and I just used on my husband. The knee pain and tightness can be gone in seconds! I'll try to describe how it's performed and I'll put a video up later showing the technique because it's really easy.

Massage is a popular therapy these days and becoming more and more so. It's also becoming a popular profession and rightly so. It's a great career choice and it's mostly an enjoyable job.

Because it is seen as a career with the potential to earn a good hourly rate, there are many people making the decision to study massage and go into business. The majority of those who decide to take up massage are women and that's understandable because us gals are the nurturers and carers.
