There’s nothing like a hot chocolate on a cold evening – or any time really! So how do you make keto hot chocolate? Well you’re going to be delighted to find that my way is super easy!
And I’ve also used this keto hot chocolate recipe successfully as a cheat on the HCG diet… 😉

What Is Keto Hot Chocolate?
Keto hot chocolate is yummy hot chocolate without all the sugar and carbs. The sad truth for us hot chocolate lovers is that most hot chocolate tastes so damn good because it’s filled with refined sugar, and it’s super high in carbohydrates.
And of course if you’re on a keto diet you don’t want all those carbs, and you certainly don’t want all that sugar!
So a keto version of hot chocolate is one that still tastes good, but is lower in carbs and contains no sugar. Simple!
So How Do You Make Keto Hot Chocolate?
My version is really super easy. It’s made with simple ingredients and it tastes good.
It’s made from:
- Raw organic Cacao
- Coconut milk or Coconut cream
- Coconut oil
- Stevia powder or erythritol (Swerve or similar)
- Hot water
Plus you can either sprinkle with cinnamon, OR add a drop or two of (your choice of) doTERRA essential oil/s for their health benefits and yummy flavours. My suggestions are either On Guard, Wild Orange, Cinnamon, Cassia, or a blend of Black Pepper, Cinnamon & Cardamom.

The How To
Simply add your ingredients along with boiling water into a tall container (I use a large coffee pot) and blend with a stick blender. If you don’t have one, they’re not expensive and I’ve had mine for years now. Mine is similar to this Kitchen Aid stick blender as it came with the same attachments and they’re super handy.
Once blended, pour into your cup and enjoy.
What About The HCG Diet Cheat?
As I’ve explained in the video above, I used this to cheat on the HCG diet and still managed to lose. I simply used the coconut oil and less coconut milk. It worked for me! It might work for you too. 😉
